During the yearly solidarity action of gagging statues for a free Belarus March 18, three Russian activists trying to show their support for Belarus, were arrested and held over night. They were supposedly released but are facing criminal charges for vandalism and disturbing of peace.

IFLRY is currently looking for a new Belarus Programme Manager to run the program during these exciting times of election in the country.
No need to be an expert on Belarus as long as there is enthusiasm and and inspiration. The appointment will be between summer 2010 and summer 2011 and will thus include planning for a pro-democracy movement being ready for the presidential elections in Belarus in early 2011.

Charter ’97 reports that “European Belarus” performed a campaign promoting the oppositional red-and-white flag on October 29.
